Chef Suthan Rasa, originally from Sri Lanka, has a remarkable culinary journey that embodies passion, resilience, and dedication. Fleeing a war-torn homeland, Chef Rasa arrived in Canada, where he immersed himself in the world of Italian cuisine. Starting from humble beginnings, he worked his way up from making pasta and salads to becoming a sous chef in Toronto's top Italian restaurants. Over the years, he honed his skills under the guidance of master chefs, learning the intricacies of fine Italian dining.

In 2022, Chef Rasa realized his dream by opening Dolce, a charming Italian restaurant in Caledon Village. Dolce is a cozy neighborhood favorite known for its authentic Italian ambiance, complete with red and white checked tablecloths. The restaurant offers a wide array of dishes, including 45 variations of pizzas and pastas, with options for health-conscious diners such as gluten-free, whole wheat, rice, or spelt pasta. The menu also includes other European-inspired dishes like fish and chips, chicken souvlaki, and rainbow trout, as well as traditional Italian desserts and a selection of wines, beers, and spirits.

Chef Rasa's philosophy is simple: create unforgettable dishes with uncompromising flavors, using only the finest ingredients, all prepared by hand.
